Springfield

Chris, Grayson, Tate and I took a little overnight road trip last weekend to Springfield, MO.

You may think we are crazy, but we took them to see Switchfoot!
(Chris and I went to see them last November.)
The boys listen to them a lot. And, "perform" their songs for anyone willing to listen.
All.
The.
Time!

The boys watched some movies. And, we got to use the headphones! This is fun for them, and allows us to listen to the radio or whatever in the front.

We were able to use Chris' Friends of the Foot membership again, to watch sound check...
(their stickers say "pre-show!")

...and meet the band!!We got to talk with all of the band members. And, the boys had the poster signed that hangs in their toy room. Grayson even got a guitar pick from one of them.

We had quite a bit of time in between the pre-show and the show. So, we checked in to our hotel. And, grabbed some dinner.
We even let the boys have some Dr. Pepper, since the show started at bed time!


We even had time to walk around downtown for a bit.
Our pre-show passes allowed us to get in early and claim our seats.

We didn't take many pictures during the concert. Here are a couple...

Tate was visibly having a great time.
Dancing.
Wanting us to hold him so he could see.
Singing along.
Taking out his earplugs so he could get the full effect.

Grayson was a little more subdued.
He sat.
And really focused on what was going on.
He has been imitating new moves he saw.
And, noticed that the lead singer had thee shirts on...as he had taken two of them off at different times during the concert.
You can see his earplugs still in.
He did sing along.

But, when it was all over he said...
"It was the most fun I ever had!"


On the way home we stopped to see Big Brutus.

You used to be able to climb all the way to the top. We were all bummed to learn (after climbing into the engine room) that you no longer can. We had fun though! Minus a few minutes when Tate thought that because we couldn't get to the top, we were stuck in the engine room. He was pretty scared that we were not going to find our way out!

A big weekend for two little boys!
